LONDON INDEPENDENT
FILM FESTIVAL
London - United Kingdom
April 17 to 27, 2015

In the Spotlight today is the 12th Annual London Independent Film Festival, described byTime Out Magazine as "a treasure trove of undiscovered cinematic gems." The festival has a distinct eye and respect for first and second-time filmmakers that produce a film under $150,000 USD - submissions are accepted across an array of categories including Sci-Fi, Horror, LGBT, Documentary, Music Video, Animated, and many more. Indie filmmakers making it work on a shoe string are invited to submit to the No-Budget Feature category if their film cost less than $15,000 to produce.

Screenwriters also have the opportunity to earn recognition and win big at LIFF with four screenplay categories up for competition. One winner from each category will be selected by the jury and invited to have a staged script reading of their work in London, provided free screenwriting software, and submission support to a major literary agency and film studio.

A reputable support system for emerging filmmakers, LIFF includes a bevy of popular training programs and is organized and programmed by industry professionals who understand the ins and outs of steering a great film to completion. Two time LIFF alum Jan Dunn thanks the festival, "We make films because we have something to say but often we can't compete with the sheer weight of a commercial feature to get our films onto a British cinema screen...so well done LIFF in giving filmmakers like us a starting point!"

UPCOMING DEADLINE

Last year's LIFF boasted features and shorts from around the world and maintained the festival's status as one of the best platforms available for micro-budget and no-budget storytelling for the big screen.
