Los Angeles -- If one were to see Hell or experience it before the afterlife one need look no further than Auschwitz, a place that has become the reflection of all that is vile, cruel, hideous and the grotesquely obscene within the psychological frame work of humanity's darker side. A place that some have described as Hell on Earth that only ceased operation when the Red Army entered the camp and were met by the skeletal remains of the living dead.
This coming April marks the end of the most devastating War humanity wrought upon itself. Unofficially the combined death toll of both civilian and military combatants that began with the invasion of Poland in September 1939 and concluded with the utter destruction and decimation of Germany and her people in April of 1945 was pegged globally at about 70 million. Officially, however, the death toll has remained somewhere around 50 million. Yet what makes this mass genocide so difficult to fully comprehend probably lies in the methodology propagated toward the execution of the "final solution", that premeditated murder spree of innocent civilians across the European/Eurasian continent, unabated by any guilt and/or mercy.
Moreover, the murderers as has been pointed out repeatedly, were themselves in less precarious times, committed ubiquitous citizens who in the hours of peace would have faded into the mass of humanity unnoticed, and forgotten...like a spec of sand settled within a bedrock of sandy beaches.
As the surviving generation of the camps, mostly Jews, and yes the "final solution" at its core was driven by an almost hysterical crusade to eradicate Jewry and her people in the most sadistic yet efficient manner, is disappearing daily. The mortality table has now generously tipped in their favor, finally awaiting its last pickup. That one can speculate that within a decade most if not all, with the exception of a handful, will be gone and with them the legacy of the eyewitness account to the greatest crime and tragedy in all the annals of human existence.
Therefore in remembrance of the day God wept, herewith below is a BBC dramatization of the facts behind Nazi Germany's plan to kill all undesirable people that were racially impure according to the theology they mandated and preached at the time.
What makes this version so special is the fact that the British Broadcaster did a detailed historical analysis culled from the records found after the war and by commentaries from educators and eyewitnesses, those that are still living, to create a non-judgmental report as to the socio-economic and political roots of the conspiracy to willfully and deliberately commit the biggest mass murder of all time.
