![]() Los Angeles -- The reality of success isn't what is seen, read or thought but rather instead it is the back story with its unflattering disappointments, near misses and the bitter sweet comprise that is essential in the advancement or retreat of ones career. Case in point: several top rated movie directors were brought together in a round table forum, I guess due to the award season, presented by THR (The Hollywood Reporter) and sponsored by the industry lead publication here in LA LA land, discussing with frankness their thoughts, struggles, triumphs, experiences in dealing with the studios and all that jazz that is the business of show business. Reality is they wouldn't have been given the spotlight if they weren't making a ton of money and their fan base wasn't as wide as the Milky Way Galaxy. Be as it may they provide, especially for the young novice filmmaker, for lack of a better word, aspiring director and their affectionate admirers a glimpse, albeit momentary, of the reality and price working within the major leagues of movie making and entertainment in general.
